MBD Energy Limited

MBD Energy is a privately funded new generation algae based Australian energy company. It's Algal Synthesiser, based on 100% owned technology has the potential to be one of the premier CO2 emission reduction scheme in the world. It is also believed to be the most suitable and commercially attractive source of oil and a significant source of high protein stockfeed.

The Algal Synthesiser may be retro fitted to a majority of existing CO2 emitting industrial facility on buffer land adjacent to the emitter.

MBDs Algal Synthesiser technology has been developed at a Test Plant partially funded by the Queensland Government jointly operated at James Cook University at Townsville.

The first commercial roll out of the technology on a staged basis from late 2009 to 2014 is planned at Loy Yang "A" Plant in Victoria's Latrobe Valley. This power station meets 40% of Victoria's electricity needs.

Progressive roll out of MBD Plants at major Australian gas emitters over the next 15 years has the potential to enable Australia to:

  • meet its atmosphere carbon reduction targets
  • offset 100% of Australia's diesel imports
  • and provide drought proof production of nutritious feed for livestock.

MBD Energy - developing and applying local technology to ensure Australia's sustainable future.
